How do I find my Model Number?
Do you have the original packaging?

If your product came in plastic packaging (a clamshell), you’ll find the model number on the front of the insert card, on the lower left corner. If your product came in a box, you’ll find the model number on the top of the box.
Most model numbers are 12-16 characters and start with a couple letters followed by a dash.
No packaging? No problem!

The product number is on a label on the side of the dimmer or switch.*
If you’ve already installed the dimmer/switch, turn off the electricity and then remove the wallplate. Unscrew and remove the wallplate adapter, then unscrew the dimmer/switch and pull it out of the wall until you can see the label.
*Please note: The product number for Ariadni/Toggler dimmers is not on a label. It’s located directly on the front of the dimmer on the top left, or right below the on/off toggle.

Can I install this in a 4-way application?
You can install this Maestro dimmer in a 4-way application. However, you'll need only one master dimmer. In the rest of the locations you'll need to use Maestro companion dimmers (such as model MA-R).

Can I use two of these in a 3-or 4-way application?
If you want to use Maestro dimmers in a 3- or 4-way application, you'll need only one master dimmer (such as the MALV-600 or MALV-1000). In the rest of the locations you'll need to use companion dimmers (such as the MA-R).

Do I need a companion dimmer for multi-location dimming and switching?
Not always, as it depends on the model number. Some products, such as the Maestro C·L dimmer, will work with a standard mechnical switch in a 3-way application. Other models may require a master and a companion device. Note: In a 4-way application, companion devices are always required.

When installing a master and companion dimmers, does it matter where I put the master?
You can place the master dimmer in any location, as long as it does not have a white wire/screw terminal for a neutral connection.
