Before You Begin

Firmware updates for Caséta devices will periodically be available in the Lutron app. When an update is available a red dot will appear next to the Firmware Update section in the Settings portion of the Lutron app.

Follow the steps in this guide to download and install available firmware updates for your Caséta devices.

Firmware updating a Caséta device

To update a Caséta dimmer or switch’s firmware, follow the steps below while in the Lutron app:

Note: The Settings screen can be accessed by tapping the Settings icon in the top left corner of the home screen in the Lutron app.

1. Tap on Firmware Update from the Settings list.
2. Select the device(s) you want to update.
3. Tap on Update at the bottom of the screen.

Note: It can take up to 15 minutes for each device to complete a firmware update.

4. Wait for the system to finish programming any recently updated devices.
5. Devices that have finished the update will display Completed under the device’s name in the Firmware Update screen.

A: No, the Lutron app can be closed out while the firmware update is in progress.​
