Blink Codes for System-based Maestro Devices

 

Maestro Dimmers/Switches/Keypads Blink Codes 

NOTE: Indicator lights are numerically ordered from bottom to top.  

Example: Device indicator light "1" is the bottom LED, indicator light 7 is the top LED.

 


 

Symptom: 

  • IL’s 1 and 7 are flashing.

Cause: 

  1. Over Voltage Detected.

Action:

  1. Verify that the control is set correctly for the load. 
  2. Check the Phase-Select Mode setting. 
     

 

Symptom: 

  • Bottom three IL’s (1,2, and 3) are flashing.

Cause: 

  1. Shorted FET Detected.
  2. Wiring error. Product may be permanently damaged. 

Action:

  1. Check wiring to be sure it matches the installation instructions and wiring diagrams.
     

 

Symptom: 

  • All IL’s are flashing.

Cause : 

  1. Over Current Detected.

Action:

  1. Check Phase-Select Mode setting. 
  2. Verify that no bulbs are blown out. 
  3. Verify that product is wired properly. 
  4. Cycle power to the unit using the FASS switch to reset. 
  5. If using LED or CFL bulbs, verify that they are Lutron compatible bulbs, please visit www.lutron.com/ledbulbs.

 

 



Symptom: 

  • Middle IL is flashing.

Cause: 

  1. Over Temperature Detected.
  2. Load may exceed maximum load rating.
  3. Ambient temperature may exceed maximum product rating.

Action:

  1. Cycle power to the unit using the FASS switch to reset.
  2. Ensure the load is within the controls load capacity. If ganged, refer to pages 7-10 in the "RadioRA Maestro Local Controls SPEC" or pages 6-7 in the "HomeWorks Designer RF Maestro Controls SPEC

 

 



Symptom: 

  • IL’s 3 and 7 are flashing

Cause: 

  1. Line/Load Miswire Detected.

Action:

  1. Swap wires on Black and Brass screw terminals.

 



Symptom: 

  • Lights do not turn ON/OFF from keypad or from other remote devices. 

 

Cause: 

  1. Improper Programming.
  2. Out of RF Range.

Action:

  1. Refer to the Software or Lutron App for Ra2 Select to ensure proper programming.
  2. Reposition to be within 30ft (9m) of a RF Signal Repeater.
     

Symptom: 

  • Load is OFF and there are no indicator lights on the dimmer. 

 

Cause: 

  1. Power Not Present.
  2. Load is not installed or connected. Dimmer MUST have a load to operate.

Action:

  1. Circuit breaker OFF or tripped.
  2. FASS is in the OFF position. Move FASS to the ON position by pushing it back in. 
  3. Check wiring to be sure it matches installation and wiring diagrams. 

 


Symptom: 
  • Dimmer IL’s are ON but load cannot be turned ON and/or cannot be turned OFF.

 

Cause: 

  1. Wiring Error.
  2. Lamps Burned Out or Not Installed.

Action:

  1. Check wiring to be sure it matches installation instructions and wiring diagrams.
  2. Replace or Install Lamps.

 



SeeTouch Keypads


 

Symptom: 

  • LEDs on a keypad don’t light up when a button is pressed. 

 

Cause: 

  1. Power not present at keypad.
  2. Incorrect Wiring.

Action:

  1. Circuit breaker OFF. Turn ON breaker. 
  2. Wire the keypad according to the Installation section. 

 



Symptom: 

  • All LEDs on the keypad flash when a button is pressed. 

 

Cause: 

  1. The keypad is in the Factory Settings mode and has not been configured to work in a system. 

Action:

  1. Refer to the programming software and ensure the device is assigned to that keypad. 
  2. Perform a transfer and make sure it is successful. 

 


SeeTouch Hybrid Keypads 

 

Symptom: 
  • All LEDs on the Hybrid Keypad flash when any button is pressed. 

 

Cause: 

  1. The Hybrid Keypad is in Factory Settings mode and has not been configured to work in a system.

Action:

  1. Follow the steps in the system Setup Guide to program the Hybrid Keypad.
