Factory Reset Clear Connect Type X Devices via the Lutron App Without Internet

This article provides step-by-step instructions on factory resetting Lutron Clear Connect Type X (CCX) lamps via the Lutron app when an internet connection is unavailable. This is helpful if you have moved a CCX lamp from one system to another without resetting it. 

 

Note: Factory resetting removes the device from the existing system so it can be added to a new system.

Factory Reset CCX Lamps Without An Internet Connection


1. Log in to the Lutron app using Professional mode.

 

Note: You may need to first sign out of your current account or exit out of the current system. 

 

 

2. Select RadioRA 3 / HomeWorks / Athena.

 

 

3. Press Cancel at the Unable to connect to the server message.

 

 

4. Choose More Options at the bottom of the screen. 

 

 

5. Select Reset Devices - Factory reset Clear Connect Type-X devices.

 

 

6. Select Continue using app at the mobile deactivation message.

 

 

7. Place the mobile device near the CCX device you wish to factory reset, then select Next in the bottom right-hand corner of the Lutron app. 

 

Important: Ensure the CCX devices you want to reset are closest to the mobile device.

 

 

 

8. Leave your mobile device and power off the CCX device for 5 seconds.

 

 

 

9. Power the CCX device on, then select Continue in the Lutron app. 

 

 

The app will search for nearby CCX devices. When a device is identified it will blink blue.

 

Note: Activated devices are only discoverable for reset by following the app-based steps after completing the required power cycle.

 

 

10. Select Deactivate and then confirm deactivation. After you have deactivated all intended devices select Cancel to exit.

 

 

 

You have successfully deactivated a CCX device. You may now navigate back to your system or account login.
