Device and Range Limitations

Processors & Repeaters

A RadioRA 3 system supports a maximum of 4 Processors per system. A Processor supports up to 4 Auxiliary Repeaters, with a maximum of 8 Auxiliary Repeaters per system.

 

The RadioRA 3 processor works with Sunnata RF (Clear Connect-Type X) devices and most existing RadioRA 2/RA 2 Select (Clear Connect Type-A) devices.

 

 

Clear Connect Type-X Devices

A maximum of 100 Clear Connect Type-X devices can be added to a RadioRA 3 processor. A maximum of 200 Clear Connect Type-X devices are supported per system.

Note: Sunnata companion dimmers/switches do not count toward the 100-device limitation. 

 

 

Clear Connect Type-A Devices

A maximum of 95 Clear Connect-Type A devices can be added to a RadioRA 3 processor. A maximum of 190 Clear Connect-Type A devices are supported per system

 

 

Radio Frequency (RF) Range 

Clear Connect Type-X (CCX) devices communicate using a wireless mesh topology. To ensure proper communication, the following rules must be adhered to when designing the system:

  • All CCX devices must be located within 75ft (22.9m) of the processor.
  • At least 2 CCX devices must be located within 25ft (7.6m) of the processor.
  • Each CCX device must be located within 25ft (7.6m) of two other CCX devices.

 

 

Indicates maximum allowable range between CCX devices.

Clear Connect Type-A (CCA) devices must be located within 30 ft (9.1m) of the RadioRA 3 processor or Repeater to ensure proper communication. Repeaters must be located within 60ft (18.2) of the Processor or another Repeater.
