Multizone Control in the Lutron App

Multizone control is a new mobile app feature that allows end users and pro-installers to simultaneously select and control multiple lighting zones in a HomeWorks, RadioRA3, or Athena system, regardless of what areas they are in.

 

This feature was first released in Lutron App version 25.3.5.

 

 

How to use Multizone Control

1. Select the “Control Multiple Lights” button to enter the Multi Select and Control screen

 

 

 

2. Select all lighting zones you wish to control simultaneously, then tap Next in the top right-hand corner of the screen. 

Note: The color ring around the zone icon indicates whether the zone controls color and/or CCT . 

 

 

 

3. Adjust the intensity, color, and CCT to the preferred values. Tap Done after all changes have been made. 

 

Remain on the Multi Select and Control screen until all of the selected devices go to the chosen value. When you release your finger from the screen, the app immediately sends the go-to commands to your system's processor/smart hub. Because the app is sending individual go-to commands, popcorning is an expected side effect of the feature and will worsen if a high number of devices are selected, or if multiple inputs to the controls are registered over a short time.

 

 

Note: If different lighting zone types are selected (i.e., a CCT zone and an intensity-only zone), the CCT value can still be chosen, but the change will only affect the CCT zone types. This is also the case if a CCT-only device and a color-tuning device are selected.

 

 

The control screen displays the maximum controls for each zone. For CCT-only zones, it will only show the CCT wheel and the intensity slider.

 

Note: The Multi Select and Control screen displays just the intensity slider and power button if only dimmers are selected for Multizone Control. The intensity slider affects all devices.

 

You may return to the selection screen at any time via the < Back button to add more devices to control. Press Done to save changes and return to the home screen.
