Change CCA Device Channel via Lutron app
Before You Begin
- Ensure your device is a transmit-only CCA device (Pico remote, 4-Group Shade remote, occupancy, vacancy, or daylight sensor).
- Ensure your processor is powered on and ready to use.
- Ensure your processor has a CCA link, or you have a hybrid repeater activated to it in the system.
CCA devices can have their channel changed using either the Lutron App, or Lutron Designer. This article focuses on changing device channels via the Lutron app.

- Navigate to the project in the Lutron App
- Sign in to the Lutron app as a Professional using your myLutron account.
- Select RadioRA 3 / HomeWorks / Athena.
- Enter the Place by either selecting the Place name in the Place list or connecting locally if the system is not listed.
- Select Yes when prompted to activate any unactivated devices. If no prompt appears, go to Settings and select Activate Devices.
- Select an area where unactivated devices are located or to just change channels, select any area.
- Click on the three dot menu on the top right and select Change Device Channel from the activation menu.
- Select the processor that the devices will be activated to. The app will instruct you on how to change the channel of the device to match the channel of the selected processor so they can communicate. If you don't know which processor to choose, use the Don't know which processor? link to see which processor each device is assigned to.
- Select the type of device.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to enter channel-change mode on the physical device. Press Next.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to cycle through the channels on the device. Once the device is on the same channel as the processor, the screen will advance and show a green check mark at the top of the screen along with the discovered device's serial number.
- If there are other devices of the same type that you want to change the channel of, press Next Device and repeat steps 7-8 to change their channel. The Device list link lists the devices that are assigned to the selected processor for your reference.
- Click Done when finished changing the devices' channels. They can now be discovered and activated as described in the Clear Connect Type-A Activation via the Lutron App article.
Problem: Device can't be discovered even after changing the channel correctly
Solution:
- Ensure the device is displaying the correct LED feedback as described by the on-screen instructions when it enters channel change mode.
- Ensure the channel was set correctly. There are some very rare corner cases where devices mis-report their channel. Cycle through the channels until there the app shows a green check mark. Then, press "Next device". DO NOT follow the exit instructions for the device. Cycle through the channels again, until the app shows the green checkmark again before following the exit channel change instructions for the device.
- Follow the instructions in the troubleshooting section of the Clear Connect Type-A Activation via the Lutron App article if the problem persists.
