Setting Shade Limits in the Lutron App

This article covers setting limits on Lutron Serena, Triathlon and Palladiom Wire-free shades using the Lutron App.

Before You Begin

Confirm that your shade(s) are added to the Lutron App.

If your shades are not in the Lutron App, click here for instructions on How to add Serena Shades to the Lutron App.

Note: Triathlon and Palladiom Wire-free shades require a Caséta Pro Smart Hub (model: L-BDGPRO2-WH) to activate. They are not compatible with the standard Caséta Smart Hub (model: L-BDG2-WH).

 

The sections below detail how to set limits on Serena, Triathlon, and Palladiom Wire-free shades in the Lutron App:


Section 1: Set the Upper Limit

 

  1. Tap the icon of the shade you wish to edit in the DEVICES tab of the Lutron app.

 

  1. Tap Edit Device.

  1. Tap on Set Shade Limits.

  1. Tap on Open Limit.

  1. Tap the Raise A triangle in a circleDescription automatically generated and Lower  buttons to select the preferred shade position for Open/100%.

  1. Tap Save after you have moved your shade to the desired open limit.

 

Note: You may need to repeat these steps for any adjacent shades.


Section 2: Set the Lower Limit

 

  1. Tap the icon of the shade you wish to edit in the DEVICES tab of the Lutron app.

 

  1. Tap Edit Device.

  1. Tap on Close Limit.

  1. Tap the Raise A triangle in a circleDescription automatically generated and Lower  buttons to select the preferred shade position for Closed/0%.

  1. Tap Save after you have moved your shade to the desired open limit.

 

Note: You may need to repeat these steps for any adjacent shades.


Section 3: Test the Upper and Lower Limits

 

  1. Tap the icon of the shade you wish to test in the DEVICES tab of the Lutron app.

 

  1. Press the Open  button to test the shade’s saved open limit.

 

  1. Press the Close A grey square in a white circleDescription automatically generated button to test the shade’s saved closed limit.

Once the shade is set back to factory default, add the shade into the Lutron app and attempt the steps above.
