How to Set Limits on a Triathlon Shade in Standalone

Instructions on setting limits via a Pico Wireless or 4-Group RF Remote with your Triathlon Shades. This is for standalone applications where Caseta, RA2 Select, RadioRA, or HomeWorks are not being used.

First, confirm that you have a Lutron Triathlon shade by the button style:

To set limits the Wireless Control must be assigned to the shade, follow the steps in How to Program a Triathlon Shade to a Remote if this has not been done.

Note: Shade limits cannot be set from a remote on 4-button shades. For 4-button Sivoia QS, Sivoia QS Wireless, or Palladiom shades, visit How to Set Limits on Sivoia QS or Palladiom Shades.

Verify Standalone Shade Operation

The Shade Button is used to activate and indicate various steps while assigning and programming the shade for compatible handheld or system-based remote control.

    1. Press the Shade Button on your Triathlon Shades and observe for a solid green indicator light.
    1. If the green indicator light remains illuminated, the shade is ready to be paired. You may now pair a Pico remote or a 4-group remote to the shade.
    1. If the green indicator light turns off within one second, your Triathlon Shade is connected to a Lutron smart home system. You must pair your remote to your Triathlon Shade through your Lutron system.
      • If using a Caséta or RA2 Select system, use the Lutron App to program and control the shade.
      • If using a RadioRA 3 or HomeWorks system, use the Lutron Designer software to program your shade. Visit www.lutron.com/wheretobuy to find a locally trained and certified Lutron Dealer.
