Accessories such as installation tools and samples can be ordered through the ordering tool's “Parts and Accessories -> Installation Accessories.”
Do I need to order track differently to work with the Recessed System?
There are 2 areas to pay attention to when it comes to order tracks working with the Recessed System.
- Timing. It’s recommended to order the track after the Recessed System is installed. Tape measure slots ensure precise measurement for an accurate track fit within the recessed pocket.
Track width = Slot to Slot Measurement + 6 in (152 mm).
- Mounting Option Dropdown. Select “Recessed w/ Recess System” in the Mounting Option for Recessed System. Tracks are mounted inside Recessed System designed for Lutron Tracks. The track will be shipped with pre-drilled mounting holes, recessed brackets, as well as screws that will be compatible with Recessed System.
How do I prepare the ceiling for the Recessed System?
Ensure there is blocking to secure the Recessed System to the ceiling and support the weight of the drapery system depending on the ceiling architecture.
Prepare Double- or Single-Layer Drywall: Create a recess of 1.25 in (31.75 mm) deep so the flanges are pressed tightly to the drywall.
Note: Install Recessed System in accordance with all local and national electrical and building codes.
Does the Recessed System work with tandem configurations or corner applications?
Yes. End caps are made of plastics. Modifications of the end caps are needed to accommodate tandem, corner and other applications. Please refer to the visuals and app note for more details.
Does Lutron provide tools to help with the installation?
When mounting the track, use the recessed drapery installation tool (model number WIN-DREC-TOOL) to center the track within the recessed mounting pocket. This ensures even gaps. Also the installation tool can be used as a drill guide when installing the track mounting screw to protect the track.
Does the fabric need to change to accommodate the Recessed System?
No fabric change is needed to accommodate the Recessed System.
I have an existing track – does that work with the Recessed System?
Tracks ordered after 11/4/2024 with “Recessed w/ Recess System” mounting option selected will work with the Recessed System.
Tracks ordered before 11/4/2024 with “Recessed w/ Wood Screw” mounting option, the tracks are already predrilled to be mounted in the Recessed System. However, the following need to be completed for proper installation into the Recessed System:
- Order track mounting screws designed for the Recessed System: WIN-DRBMS-10-RPL.
- Modification to the rail box is needed for existing tracks to fit into the Recessed System.
Where can I find more resources about the Recessed System?
