Section (1):  Verifying Your Application

The Sunnata PRO RF dimmer and switch REQUIRES a neutral connection. Please verify availability of a neutral connection prior to specification / installation of the product.

US houses built from the mid 1980's typically have a neutral (white) wire in the switch box.  The neutral (white) wires are typically tied together with a wirenut.  Here is a picture of a typical switch box that contains neutral connections:

NOTES ON INSTALLATION

  • RadioRA 3 Sunnata dimmers and switches REQUIRE a neutral connection

  • RadioRA 3 Sunnata dimmers and switches MUST be required on the LOAD side.

Section (4):  Troubleshooting  

 

SYMPTOM

CAUSE

ACTION

LED lights do not operate well or they flicker/buzz
 

The lamp is not compatible with your Lutron dimmer

Find a compatible lamp by visiting Lutron's LED compatibility tool 

The phase is not set to the correct setting for the load type

1.  Confirm Phase Setting
2.  Change Phase Setting

The low-end is not properly adjusted

Perform low-end trim adjustment

LED lights do not dim low enough

The low-end is not properly adjusted

Perform low-end trim adjustment

LED's 1,7, and 9 on the dimmer are flashing

Hot-Dimmed Miswire
Product may be permanently damaged

 

LED's 7,8, and 9 on the dimmer are flashing 

Blue Screw (traveler) Miswire

 

LED's 1 and 7 are flashing

Over voltage Protection
The phase is not correctly set

1.  Confirm Phase Setting
2.  Change phase setting

LED's 1, 2, and 3 are flashing

Shorted FET detected.  Wiring error
Product may be permanently damaged

 

LED 5 (Middle) is flashing
 

Load may exceed maximum load rating

Ensure load does not exceed maximum.  See Section (1)

Ambient temperature may exceed max  rating (104 F / 40 C)

Turn unit off until ambient temp falls below max (104 F / 40 C)

Unit needs to be reset

Cycle power to the unit using the FASS switch

All LED's are flashing


 

Over current Protection
The phase is not correctly set

1.  Confirm Phase Setting
2.  Change phase setting

Bulb(s) may have failed

Check bulb & replace if necessary

Unit needs to be reset

Cycle power to the unit using the FASS switch

The lamp is not compatible with your Lutron dimmer

Find a compatible lamp by visiting Lutron's LED compatibility tool 

Wiring Error

Check wiring to be sure that it matches the installation instructions

Load is OFF and there is no LED lit on dimmer

Power NOT present
   Circuit breaker OFF or tripped
   Load is not installed 
   FASS switch is in OFF position


Reset breaker
Dimmer must have a load to operate
Move FASS switch to ON position

Wiring Error

Check wiring to be sure that it matches the installation instructions

Lights turn ON and OFF continuously

Improper load type OR less than required minimum load

Find a compatible lamp by visiting Lutron's LED compatibility tool 

Dimmer LED is ON but load cannot be turned ON or OFF

Wiring Error

Check wiring to be sure that it matches the installation instructions

Lamp failed on not installed

Replace or install compatible lamp

Lights don't turn ON/OFF from keypad or from other remote device

Improper programming

Refer to the Ra3 software or Lutron App to ensure proper programming

Out of RF Range

Reposition to be within 25 ft (7.6m) of an RF Repeater or RA3 RF device
