Selecting a Maestro Dimmer

This article details the various features and benefits of the Maestro MACL-153M and MA-PRO LED+ dimmers to better assist in choosing the correct dimmer for your application.

Maestro MACL-153M front and side view

Can be installed in single-pole, 3-way, or multi-location applications.
- For 3-way installs the MACL-153M can be installed with a MA-R companion dimmer or a mechanical switch*.
- For multi-location installs the MACL-153M must be installed with MA-R Companion Dimmers in the remaining wallbox locations.
Easy-to-operate tap switch turns lights on/off to preset light level. Side rocker buttons dim and brighten the lights.
Advanced programming settings for features such as customizable delayed-fade-to off.
Installs in as little as 15 minutes in homes of all ages – no neutral required.
Rated for up to 150 Watts of dimmable LED/CFL bulbs or 600 Watts of Incandescent/Halogen bulbs.
- The MACL-153M is not designed or rated for use with low-voltage transformers, drivers, or outlets.

Maestro MA-PRO front and Side View

Can be installed in single-pole, 3-way, or multi-location applications.
- For 3-way or multi-location installs the MA-PRO must be installed with MA-R Companion Dimmers in the remaining wallbox locations. It will not work properly with mechanical switches.
Neutral optional: Refer to the section Load Type and Capacity in the MA-PRO specification sheet for more info when a neutral connection is required.
Phase selectable: Reprogrammable for forward or reverse phase dimming. Click here for the steps to change the phase of the MA-PRO.
Rated for up to 250 Watts of dimmable LED/CFL, 500 Watts of incandescent/halogen/ELV, or 400VA MLV lighting loads.
