Clear Connect Type X Live Channel Change

The most common reasons to change the CCX Channel are to resolve intermittent communication issues with Lutron devices caused by interference, or to prevent interference with other 2.4GHz systems, such as WiFi. Channel change should only be used as a last resort for resolving device issues. Please perform standard troubleshooting steps before completing the steps in this guide.

Note: Channel changes should only be performed on-site. If a device does not change channel, it must be factory reset and reactivated.

How to Perform a Live (CCX) Channel Change

Do not revert the project to an older version after performing a channel change. Devices will become unresponsive.

      HomeWorks Systems

      1. Navigate to the diagnostics tab in Lutron Designer and take note of all devices that are not communicating.

Note: This information is needed after the channel change.

      1. Click on the design tab, then choose link assignment from the drop-down menu

          1. Select the CCX Link that you wish to change the channel of. In the example below, Link 1 is selected from the Clear Connect X Gateway 001 from the CCX Gateway accordion menu.

            1. Click the RF Channel Number drop-down, then select a new channel.

            1. Navigate back to the diagnostics tab and confirm that all previously working devices are still communicating on the new channel. If devices are not responsive on the new channel, complete one of the following troubleshooting steps:
              1. Wait 30 minutes after the channel change has completed. Some devices may still be migrating over to the new channel during this time.
              1. Factory default the unresponsive device(s), then reactivate them in the project.
                • Factory reset from the physical device:
                  • Quickly triple-tap the "On" or top button and hold it until the device begins to flash, then immediately release
                  • Triple-tap the same button. Do not hold this time. The device will rapidly flash (for keypads/switches) or scroll up and down (for dimmers) to confirm a successful reset.
                • Factory reset from the Lutron app:
                  • Navigate to the places screen.
                  • Tap More options located at the bottom of the screen.
