How To View Projects In the Places Menu
When opening Lutron Designer and selecting your system type, it will load to the Places menu within Lutron Connect.
This will display all Places (Projects) you have been granted access to through the Cloud:
If you have a Project file saved on your computer from 23.4 or lower and is not in the list, there will be a button at the bottom of the list to open the local file.
Within the Places menu, you can view the history of the Place and restore older versions if needed. To do so, tap the three dots next to the Open button and select View Version History.
Note: This is only available within Lutron Designer and not the Lutron Connect Portal.
In the Version History screen, you will be able to see Quick Access saves at the top, followed by all previous versions below. The three Quick Access saves will only appear if they apply for the system: Current Version, Last Conversion, and Last Transferred.
You can add up to 100 Characters of notes to each version by clicking on the Notes section. By default, they will only contain a basic reason for the new version such as the examples above.
How to Verify the Cloud Status of a Project within Designer
When opening a Place or local file, you will see a Cloud icon at the top right of the window showing the status of the Cloud and permissions.
Clicking on the cloud will provide a description of the current cloud status:
-
GREEN: Remote services are enabled, and project cloud sync is good.
-
YELLOW: Remote services are enabled, but this account does not have permission to use them. Have the homeowner share access via Lutron App homeowner account settings, or have a programmer share access to the required Lutron account.
-
RED: No internet connection on PC
-
GRAY: Cloud sync is not enabled for this project. Can be changed in project settings.
How to Perform a Remote Transfer within Lutron Designer
With a Place connected to the Cloud with a Green status as noted above, you can perform a Remote Transfer to the system for Programming changes. Once all changes have been made, follow these steps to perform a Remote Transfer:
Select the Transfer tab in Designer. On the left there will be a Processor Connection Status to confirm the Processors are Online.
The status of the Processor can be one of the four:
- Blue - This will be the initial status. It will remain this way until Designer can connect to the Processor, or fail to connect to the Processor.
- Green - This means the Processor is online and ready for a Remote Transfer
- Red - This means Designer was unable to connect to the Processor. This will occur if the Processor is not connected to the internet.
- Yellow - This means the Processor is not activated.
Once the Processor Connection Status is Green, then you can press Start Transfer to begin the Remote Transfer.
Remote Diagnostics within Designer
Once connected to the cloud, you can use the Diagnostics tab in Designer to check on the system's status and if devices are responding.
