Panel Link to QS Link Translator Overview

This article will overview our Panel Link Translator, it’s features and compatibilities.

Overview

The Panel Link Translator is a QS Devices that enables existing legacy panels in HomeWorks Illumination, HomeWorks Interactive, or HomeWorks QS to be upgraded to HomeWorks QSX by replacing the existing Module Interface, Spec Grade Interface,​ or 8-Series Processor with Internal Module Interface Link.

Features

Designed for easy installation

  1. Minimal panel modifications are required when replacing a module interface or specification grade panel interface.
  2. Uses the same headers as the module interface or specification grade panel interface so that existing wire harnesses and terminal blocks can be re-used.  
  3. Uses the same panel mounting studs as the module interface and specification grade panel interface.

Local buttons and LEDs enable panel function testing and troubleshooting.

Capable of being used in Manual Override applications or SENSE wire applications.

Can be powered by the existing 24VAC transformer or a QS Link Power Supply.

 

FAQs

Can the HQ-MI-LX be used to upgrade panels to systems other than HomeWorks QSX?

  • No, but the UA-CS-LX does enable legacy panels from commercial systems to be upgraded to Athena

 

Which existing systems can be upgraded to HomeWorks QSX using the Panel Link Translator?

  • HomeWorks Illumination, HomeWorks Interactive, or HomeWorks QS

 

Does the Panel Link Translator consume PDUs through the Top QS Link or the Bottom QS Link?

  • No. The Panel Link Translator will only consume PDUs from a QS Link power group if the power terminals are connected to the QS Link V+ and COM.
